Valerie Steele will receive an honorary doctorate from The Courtauld Institute of Art, part of the University of London, on July 6. Dr. Steele will receive the Courtauld’s first History of Dress Honorary Doctorate, to celebrate the institution’s 50 years of fashion studies. Also in London, Steele will give a lecture on July 3 titled “Fashion in the Museum” at the Institute of Historical Research’s annual Anglo-American Conference of Historians at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
