Film and Media Assistant Chair Has Exhibition in Seattle

Michelle Handelman’s exhibition Irma Vep, The Last Breath opened July 11 at the University of Washington’s Henry Art Gallery, in Seattle. The four-channel film installation is based on the silent film Les Vampires and stars Zackary Drucker (Transparent) and Jack Doroshow aka Flawless Sabrina (The Queen [1968]). The show is on view until October 11.

On October 8, 6-8 pm, in conjunction with the exhibition, Jessica Burstein, associate professor of English at the university, will present a lecture on the cultural impact of the catsuit, “The Face of Fetish and the Skin It’s In: The Catsuit In and Out of Film.” For more information, contact Michelle Handelman, 73352.
