Talking Trade at FIT Lecture: African Fashion and International Business

Thursday, September 24, 9:15-10:45 am
Katie Murphy Amphitheatre

As part of the International Trade and Marketing Department’s Talking Trade at FIT lecture series, Roberta Annan, founder and principal of Roberta Annan Consulting and founder of Frallain, will discuss African fashion and international business. Africa is making waves in the commercial fashion industry with the use of traditional patterns and textiles. Yet failing economies and lack of investment opportunities have excluded African designers from the global fashion market. Annan will discuss the Frallain Initiative and its role in creating a platform for African designers through capacity building, education, and women’s empowerment.

This event is also being held via web conference. Find the details on the Talking Trade website, fitnyc.edu/talkingtrade.
