Dubinsky Student Center, Room D207
The Social Sciences Department and the Presidential Scholars program present a lecture on world affairs by Amir Vahab, one of New York’s most celebrated composers and vocalists of Sufi and folk music, which weave fiery instrumentals and songs of the Middle East and Central Asia. His work transcends political boundaries while maintaining traditional sensibilities in a way few artists can achieve. Honored as a peacemaker and virtuoso, Vahab was described in The New York Times as an “ambassador for a silenced music.”
