The fair labor agenda is a set of implementable guidelines for basic conditions that provide dignity in the workplace. The Fair Labor Association has put fair labor and living wage standards into practice at a range of iconic brands, including Apple. Auret van Heerden has supported the Ethical Fashion Initiative in applying the fair labor agenda to all its projects.

This event is part of the Hand of Fashion, a series of discussions hosted by Ethical Fashion Initiative founder Simone Cipriani, intended to widen the understanding of sustainability in fashion design, enable and encourage sustainable thinking, and  help establish a new normal in the fashion industry. These discussions are free and open to the public, but an RSVP is requested. For more information, and to register, visit fitnyc.edu/handoffashion. The Hand of Fashion is a sponsored by the schools of Art and Design and Graduate Studies.
