As part of the Film and Media Screening series, Nefertite Nguvu will show her film In The Morning. Her first feature-length film, In the Morning is about love and its inevitable changes, charting the emotional anatomy of several relationships over the course of one day. Nguvu has written, produced, and directed two short films, and a ten-part web series titled The Road to U.N.I.T.Y., which chronicles the life of five aspiring female emcees handpicked by Queen Latifah in a project for Cover Girl and Flavor Unit Entertainment. In the Morning debuted at the Urbanworld Film Festival in New York City and won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film. A Q&A with Nguvu will follow the screening.
