FIT Takes the Top Spot in PayScale.com’s 2016-17 Salary Rankings

cash-6663FIT graduates go on to successful careers throughout the creative industries. And according to a recent report, they also have incredible earning potential.

In the 2016-17 PayScale College Salary Report, FIT ranks first in the nation among community colleges for alumni mid-career salaries ($74,600), up from second place last year. This salary figure, collected from alumni with ten or more years of post-graduate experience, represents an increase of 3.5 percent from last year. PayScale ranked 371 two-year colleges.

For the second year in a row, FIT ranks number two out of 100 schools for alumni holding bachelor’s degrees in art, with a mid-career salary of $90,300. FIT also ranks 110th overall for mid-career salaries among all 983 colleges and universities that grant bachelor’s degrees, with a median salary of $93,100. Among bachelor’s-degree-granting schools in New York State, FIT came in 17th. Among public colleges and universities nationwide, FIT’s rank was 35th.

PayScale, which links individuals and businesses to the largest salary profile database in the world, collects data through an ongoing online compensation survey. The site ranked 1,388 colleges and universities in total, with an average sample size of 325. Learn more about Payscale.com’s methodology.
