Ron Amato, Photography, will be at Strand Books to sign copies of his book The Box. His work centers around issues of aging in the gay community, diverse images of male beauty, idealized body manipulation, image and social media, and embracing same-sex attraction. In addition to signing books, Amato will discuss his work with Hunter O’Hanian, author of the book’s forward and the executive director and chief executive officer of the College Art Association (CAA). O’Hanian is also the former director of The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art. The event will take place on Monday, May 1, at 7:30 pm at Strand Books, 828 Broadway, in New York City.
