WWD.com (May 24) interviewed Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics, upon whom a SUNY Doctor of Humane Letters degree was conferred. Weingarten discussed the topics she would touch on in her keynote speech. Elle.vn (Vietnam, May 25) included FIT in the article “17 World Renowned Fashion Universities.”

WWD.com, Vogue.com (both May 23), WWD (May 24), and FashionUnfiltered.com (May 25) reported on the CFDA Fashion Future Graduate Showcase, a partnership with the NYC Economic Development Corporation. Students from FIT, Parsons, Pratt, Academy of Art University, and the Rhode Island School of Design exhibited their works at Center415, an event space located in Midtown, and a select group have information about their design work and pursuits on the CFDA website.

LATimes.com (May 26) and The Los Angeles Times (May 28) turned to Mark-Evan Blackman, assistant professor, Menswear, for comment on the RompHim, a romper designed for men. “I think it’s outrageous. Who wants to see a grown man dressed like a toddler?” said Blackman.

Racked.com (May 23) quoted Crystal Sai, a graduate student and research team leader in the Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management master’s program, for an article on skincare brands for millennials. Sai’s group has conducted consumer research that includes the buying habits of that group.

Fragrance.org (May 23) and BeautyFashionFragrance.com (May 25) listed the Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management program’s annual Capstone research presentations, to be held at FIT on June 13.

Core77.com (May 25) listed the Graduating Student Exhibition, held from May 13–25, in which the work of more than 800 students graduating from the School of Art and Design was showcased throughout the campus.

SarahScoop.com (May 24) included the Museum at FIT (MFIT) as part of their “Beauty Lover’s Ultimate Travel Guide.”
