Ann Cantrell, Fashion Business Management, who is also the owner of the popular gift boutique Annie’s Blue Ribbon General Store in Brooklyn, was the focus of many news features about Small Business Saturday, the shopping day that follows Thanksgiving. Cantrell was featured on the front page of USA Today‘s business section with a large photo, that was then posted online in an article titled “Small Business Saturday: In Shadow of Black Friday, Cyber Monday Merchants Find Meaning.”

She was also interviewed by ABC’s World News Tonight, which ran a story about Cantrell during their West Coast edition (see camera phone footage of her West Coast appearance here), and then used footage of her store for each lead-in after a commercial for the national edition of the program. She received a special recognition from the local ABC affiliate, ABC Channel 7, as part of that coverage, which you can see on their site under the headline “Shoppers support local stores on Small Business Saturday.” Cantrell was also interviewed by Good Morning America, which included many clips of her shop.

For several years, Cantrell has been a prominent voice for Small Business Saturday, and has been featured by for American Express in its small business advertising campaigns.
