Faculty Work on Display in New Views 2018

“Wyoming” by Sylvie G. Covey, Fine Arts Department

Beginning February 24, get a glimpse into the creative talent that underpins FIT’s School of Art and Design by visiting New Views 2018, the fourth annual large-scale faculty exhibition at FIT.

The School of Art and Design comprises 17 programs — Accessories Design, Advertising Design, Communication Design, Computer Animation and Interactive Media, Fabric Styling, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Jewelry Design, Menswear, Packaging Design, Photography, Textile/Surface Design, Toy Design, and Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design.

The work of more than 80 faculty members from across these disciplines will be on view from Saturday, February 24 through Sunday, March 11, 2018 in the John E. Reeves Great Hall.

New Views reflects of the diversity of talent among the School of Art and Design’s faculty—many of whom are professional artists and designers—as well as FIT’s innovative curriculum, which is collaborative and interdisciplinary. The exhibition is a cross-section of outstanding work across a variety of media, and offers insights into the experience that students can have at FIT.

Diverse in vision, media, and execution, the works demonstrate visual investigations that form the studio practices of the faculty, with a particular emphasis on pieces that underscore each artist’s current point of view.
