Christie Shin, Communication Design, presented a paper at the 12th Design Principles and Practices Conference held at held at Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering in Barcelona, March 5–7. The title of the presentation was “The So-Called Death of Design Education.” It challenges the traditional design education pedagogy which is based on a 19th-century model. Shin examined our contemporary networked society in which individualization, flexibility, and innovation are at the heart of everything designers do.
