The Soigné and Sustainable: Hanbok as Inspiration for Future Fashion

This seminar for costume historians and museum professionals, sponsored by the Hanbok Advancement Center of the Korean Craft and Design Foundation in South Korea, looks at traditional Korean dress for inspiration for contemporary design. The center is bringing Dr. Minjee Kim, a costume historian, and Haeja Koo, a master artisan/Intangible Cultural Property, from South Korea to speak. The seminar will also include faculty members Eileen Karp and Daniel Cole from the Fashion Design Department.

The series is sponsored by the History of Art and Fashion Design departments, the Asian Studies minor, the School of Liberal Arts, the Asian Student Network, and the Office of International Programs.
