Dr. Valerie Steele, director of The Museum at FIT, was given the Millia Davenport Publication Award for the book A Queer History of Fashion: From the Closet to the Catwalk by the Costume Society of America at its Annual Meeting and National Symposium in San Antonio, TX, in May. The book, which Steele edited, was a companion to the museum’s exhibition of the same name that was on view from September 2013 through January 2014.
