EAP Lunchtime Seminar: Reaching Out to Those We Love with Self-Control Issues

Thursday, October 29, 1-2 pm
Dubinsky Student Center, Room A802

The FIT/UCE EAP Lunchtime Seminar program hosts a workshop that will enable you to better understand loved ones with self-control issues. Does someone you know shop, smoke, drink, or eat too much? Use drugs? Spend money they don’t have? Always say the wrong thing? Have these habits or addictions created financial, relationship or emotional hardship for you or a loved one? The workshop will teach participants how to identify when behaviors need to be addressed; intervention strategies—what to say and what not to say; how to understand some of the causes for these self-medicating behaviors; and how to create healthier ways to deal with stress

Guest speaker: Jennifer Marciano, MS, is an award-winning, solution-focused professional advocate with more than 12 years of experience supporting individuals, families, businesses, health care, inner-city education and music industry professionals. Utilizing a holistic approach, Jennifer provides short-term counseling, education, training and mental health resources for relationship management and behavioral health consulting.
