Film and Media Screening Series: Quality Control

Tuesday, April 5, 6:30-8:30 pm
Pomerantz Center, Room D207

As part of the Film and Media Screening series, Kevin Jerome Everson will present his film Quality Control. Made in the summer of 2010, in a dry cleaning facility in Pritchard, Alabama, Quality Control spotlights contemporary working life and working conditions. It is similar stylistically, in form and rhythm, to Everson’s award-winning and critically acclaimed previous films, including Erie. Everson won the 2012 Alpert Award for Film and has been the subject of mid-career retrospectives at the Viennale; Visions du Reel, Switzerland; the Whitney Museum of American Art; and Centre Pompidou, Paris. A Q&A with the filmmaker will follow the screening. For more information, contact Michelle Handelman, 73352.
