Jewelry Design Assistant Professor and Chair Wendy Yothers curated a selection of work by the FIT community for the current issue of Metalsmith, the publication of the Society of North American Goldsmiths. Yothers sees a reflection of New York City—art, museums, fashion—and delight in the process of making throughout the work of her community. The nine pieces selected, work of recent graduates and a Jewelry Design Department staff member, combine fine and common elements that tell a story and create a preciousness not necessarily inherent in the materials alone.
