Mother Daughter, a digital painting by Jerome Walford, Computer Graphics, that is currently on display at FIT as part of the Expressions of Civility exhibition, has been announced as a Selected Winner for American Illustration 38. American Illustration is a hardcover, juried annual regarded by creative professionals as among the best sources for today’s top image-makers, and is the premier showcase for editorial, advertising, book, poster, design, animation, fine art, unpublished, and student work created by established, emerging, and student illustrators.
The piece is among 336 winners, chosen from over 7,000 submissions for the competition and will appear in a special annual to be released fall 2019. This is Walford’s third distinction this year. Earlier, his piece Ascent of the Beloved was a bronze winner from the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles, and his comic work has been nominated for three Glyph Comics Awards.
