Tony Capparelli’s Work Recognizes Hockey Champion

Tony Capparelli, Illustration, created a work for the New York Islanders hockey team’s celebration of former player John Tonelli at Nassau Coliseum. Capparelli is a sports artist, who captures many sports from baseball and football to hockey and racing.

At the event honoring Tonelli, the Islanders organization retired his jersey, recognizing the Dynastic Cup Champion who played with the Islanders during the 1980s, helping them to four consecutive Stanley Cup Championships. Capparelli’s work was unveiled on live television [scroll to 12:05] during the jersey retirement ceremony, which was covered by MSGPlus.
