Laticha Brown and Elena Romero Selected for SUNY LEADS Fellowships

Professors Laticha Brown, chair of Fashion Business Management, and Elena Romero, assistant chair of Marketing Communications, have both been selected as 2026 LEADS Fellows. They are fellows of the State University of New York’s (SUNY) Black Leadership Institute (BLI) and Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI), respectively.

Brown and Romero are part of a group of leaders who will engage over the next nine months in transformative learning, meaningful peer connection, executive mentorship, and system-level leadership development. The learning experience is both virtual and in-person with monthly sessions held in Albany at the SUNY System Administration Building.

Brown and Romero are two of 30 fellows chosen across SUNY campuses to participate in the four SUNY Leadership Institutes: Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Leadership Institute; Black Leadership Institute, Disability Support Leadership Institute, and Hispanic Leadership Institute.
