FIT in the News – October 19, 2018

Man-Size.LiveJournal.com (October 9), BleedingCool.com, and ComicsBeat.com (October 11) reported on Diversity Comic Con, held as part of FIT’s Civility Week, on October 11. The premiere event featured Artists’ Alley, panel discussions, portfolio reviews, and a cosplay pageant.

WWD (October 9) reported that a memorial service for Ruth Finley, creator of the Fashion Calendar, was to be held on October 13, and that an exhibition of Finley’s Fashion Calendars will be displayed outside the Special Collections and College Archives of the Gladys Marcus Library.

ModernLuxury.com (October 10) and New York Lifestyles (October issue) reported on this year’s Couture Council Luncheon at which Narciso Rodriguez received the award for Artistry of Fashion.

Jeffrey Silberman, chair, Textile Development and Marketing, spoke with TheKit.ca (October 11) about raw denim.
