A Commemoration of the Transatlantic Slave Trade

The UCE of FIT holds a Black History Month event remembering the transatlantic slave trade. A keynote will be given by architect Rodney Leon, who designed The Ark of Return, a permanent memorial at the United Nations that honors of the victims of slavery and the transatlantic slave trade, and the African Burial Ground Monument in downtown Manhattan. The event will also feature readings in English, French, and Spanish and African drumming and dance.

This event is free and open to the public.
