Entrepreneurship Lecture Series: Fireside Chat with Craigslist Founder Craig Newmark

October 10, 2017 at 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Craig Newmark

The Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology, in conjunction with the Entrepreneurship Department, is pleased to announce the kickoff of the first event in its new Entrepreneurship Lecture Series.

The first guest will be Craig Newmark, the founder of craigslist and the Craig Newmark Foundation, and an “Old-School Nerd.”

The format will be a “fireside chat” between Newmark and William Reinisch, chair of the Entrepreneurship Department, covering a host of different topics with a substantial question-and-answer session from the audience.

Newmark is a web pioneer, philanthropist, and a leading advocate on behalf of trustworthy journalism, veterans and military families, and other civic and social justice causes. In 2016 he created the Craig Newmark Foundation to promote investment in organizations that effectively serve their communities and drive broad civic engagement at the grassroots level. Newmark serves on the board of directors of a range of nonprofits including Center for Public Integrity, Consumers Union/Consumer Reports, Girls Who Code, and Women in Public Service Project.

This event is for the FIT community only, but advance registration is required. REGISTER HERE.
