Join author and cultural historian Elizabeth L. Block and The Museum at FIT’s Digital Media and Strategic Initiatives Manager Tamsen Young as they discuss Block’s latest book, Beyond Vanity: The History and Power of Hairdressing, a riveting and diverse history of women’s hair that re-establishes the cultural power of hairdressing in 19th-century America.

A book signing will follow the event.

Fashion Culture programs are organized by The Museum at FIT to provide new perspectives on the culture of fashion. All programs are free unless otherwise indicated. However, reservations are strongly encouraged, as space is limited. See a full calendar of spring 2025 Fashion Culture Program events on the museum website.
