Phil Chan is co-founder of Final Bow for Yellowface, a movement to eliminate stereotypes of Asians in the ballet community. From The Nutcracker to Crazy Rich Asians, Chan approaches issues of race and representation by exploring “cultural appropriation” through the lens of dance history—where he finds many parallels to fashion and costuming.

All Fashion Culture events are free, but registration is required; register online here, call (212) 217-4585, or email [email protected].

This event is open to the public.
