Feminism and the Art of Collaboration
March 20, 2019 at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
In an event co-hosted by the Presidential Scholars Program, ARTSpeak, and the Department of English and Communication Studies, two creative artists—one literary, one visual—will present their work and discuss the ways in which women’s collaborative art, and their work in particular, fits within the feminist tradition. Denise Duhamel, an acclaimed poet and author of collaborative writing, and Michelle Weinberg, a painter and creative director, are experienced educators invested in empowering women of all generations in their creative work. Collaborative work created by Michelle Weinberg and Denise Duhamel is currently on exhibit in the D6 Gallery, on the sixth floor of the Pomerantz Center, March 14–27.
Faculty members Rachel Baum, History of Art, and Amy Lemmon, English and Communication Studies, will moderate.
UPDATE: Denise Duhamel will no longer be able to attend this event. Michelle Weinberg will present their collaborative work and give a talk about the feminist perspective, followed by a Q&A.
This event is for the FIT community only.
