Lecture: ‘Simpsons’ Writer and Producer Mike Reiss

Simpsons writer and producer Mike Reiss will discuss his new book, Springfield Confidential, and his history in the worlds of comedy and animation.

has been show-runner, producer, and writer for The Simpsons (the longest running animated show in history), co-created the cult classic The Critic, wrote for such comedy luminaries as Johnny Carson and Garry Shandling, and worked on animated children’s classics like Despicable Me, Minions, Ice Age, Horton Hears a Who, Kung Fu Panda 3, and Rango.

Sponsored by the History program of the Social Sciences Department and the NEH working group Teaching Labor History to Art and Design Students.
