Panel Discussion: Representation at the Intersection of Fashion and Education

Please join the Social Equity Workshops for a virtual panel discussion titled “Representation at the Intersection of Fashion and Education.” Our panelists are a cross-section of thought leaders in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Panelists: 

Patricia Alvarez Astacio
Patricia Alvarez Astacio is an assistant professor of anthropology at Brandeis University. She is a visual anthropologist and an ethnographic documentary filmmaker.

Dr. Ben Barry
Dr. Barry is a fashion activist, educator, designer, researcher, dean and visiting associate professor of Equity and Inclusion at Parsons School of Fashion.

Faith Cooper
Faith Cooper is the creator of the Asian Fashion Archive, a digital resource project highlighting Asian fashion, culture, and history.

Jonathan Square
Jonathan Square is an assistant professor of Black Visual Culture at Parsons School of Design. He is a writer and historian specializing in Afro-diaspora fashion and art of the 18th and 19th centuries.
