Poetry Out Loud 2021 — New York State Finals

Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation competition, open to students in grades 9-12. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about their literary heritage. The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation partner with U.S. state arts agencies to support Poetry Out Loud, which encourages the nation’s youth to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation.
Saturday, February 13
- Region 1: Western and Central New York: 11 am–1 pm
- Region 2: North Country, Mohawk and Hudson Valleys : 1–3 pm
- Region 3: Capitol District : 3–5 pm
Sunday, February 14
- Region 4: New York City: 11 am–1 pm
- Region 5: Long Island (A): 1–3 pm
- Region 6: Long Island (B): 3–5 pm
Saturday, March 13
- New York State Finals
Teachers & Writers Collaborative manages Poetry Out Loud in New York state, in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts.
