Primary Sources Lecture Series: Ethnic Dress in East Asia

Joanne Eicher

Joanne B. Eicher is Regents Professor Emerita at University of Minnesota, specializing in cultural dress and cultural authentication. She is the editor of Dress and Ethnicity and a two-book series, Dress, Body, Culture, with 75 books currently (1994-present) and Dress and Fashion Research, 10 books currently (2013-present). Her book, Dress and Ethnicity: Change Across Space, explores ethnicity through dress by presenting case studies from all around the world.

At this lecture, Professor Eicher will introduce cross cultural examples to compare with East Asian ethnic dress.

This event is part of the Primary Sources in Costume/Textile History and Design Lecture Series.
