Talking Trade: International Trade in the 21st Century
May 3, 2018 at 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
In partnership with the New York District Export Council and U.S. Department of Commerce, the Department of International Trade and Marketing presents a forum on international trade in the 21st century.
On July 17, 2017, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced its plans to negotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). It recently modified NAFTA’s objectives to include increased market access for agriculture, new transparency and administrative measures, expanded investment and intellectual property rights objectives, trade deficit reduction, and trade distortion prevention measures. This forum will tap into the USTR’s expertise on the progress of NAFTA negotiations as well as its current and future plans for other free trade agreements.
The event is coarranged by Dr. Anastasia Xenias, senior international trade specialist, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce.
Attend the event in person in the Eighth Floor Lounge of the Dubinsky Student Center or join the conversation online at fitnyc.webex.com/meet/itm.
This event is open to the public.
