Teachable Moments: Criss-Crossing the Globe: Flamenco Film and Performance

This event, sponsored by the FIT Diversity Council, features a screening of the documentary Triana, Pura y Pura by Ricardo Pachón, which chronicles the expulsion of Roma, who were flamenco innovators, from Triana, Spain, in the ’50s. The event also features flamenco performances by Basilio Georges, Aurora Reyes, and Anna de la Paz.
FIT adjunct instructor, flamenco performer, and scholar Meira Goldberg will hold a Q&A after the event.
Tapas samples will be provided.
