About Mimi Prober

Designer Mimi Prober’s aesthetic vision integrates the artistry of the past to establish a sustainable future. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she officially founded her namesake label in 2014. Discouraged with the excess in the traditional fashion industry, she has dedicated herself to the sustainable practices of natural dyeing. Her designs also focus on the handmade details and textile narratives of the past, incorporating forgotten textiles, handmade laces, embroideries, beadwork, and remnants dating from the 1700s through the 1920s.

Prober hand-drapes and reworks these individual textile fragments into one-of-a-kind, coveted designs. Prober’s Atelier is a destination for stylists, celebrities, brides, and private clients. She has been commissioned to create stunning signature pieces for some of the most celebrated women in the world, including Misty Copeland, Erykah Badu, and Rihanna. In 2016, the designer launched her first wholesale partnership with IF Boutique in New York. This wholesale collection upholds her stringent sustainable practices and attention to detail, and it is available at MatchesFashion and retailers throughout the world.
