DESCRIPTION:February 15–27\nThe Museum at FIT Lobby \nThis project is a collegewide experiential learning project supported by a President’s Diversity Grant focused on emerging technologies contributing to diversity and inclusion in wider society. Through the 3D-animated garment visualization video and physical garment exhibition\, this project is to showcase the history of dress and unique cultural heritage of different countries including the U.S. Focused on the BIPOC (Black\, Indigenous and People of Color) countries\, the eight students across the college with diverse cultural backgrounds will present their 3D garments and physical garments that were created throughout the project. \nThis event is part of the FIT Diversity Collective’s Black History Month activities; for a full schedule of activities\, visit fitnyc.edu/blackhistory. \nThis exhibition is free and open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:The Loop for Good: Sustainable Fashion Pop-Up at the Fashion Institute of Technology is a clothing swap created to promote circularity in the fashion industry and encourage consumers to reuse and recycle their clothing. The event will also present information about sustainable practices via immersive technology such as augmented reality. \nTest your knowledge on sustainability and take a chance to win raffle prizes such as naturally made lip balm from FIT’s beehives\, essential oils\, and hand-sewn tote bags\, as well as gift certificates to industry partners Century 21\, Buffalo Exchange\, and Swim USA. \nAn immersive technology booth will feature various augmented reality games and interactions to further illustrate sustainable practices in the industry. \nTo participate in this event\, bring slightly used articles of clothing and or handbags in exchange for an e-ticket. Lightly used good condition clothing will earn one (1) e-ticket. Any new item with a tag will receive two (2) e-tickets. All items must be washed. Clothing and handbags only—no accessories or shoes.  Disclosure: We reserve the right to refuse donations. Refused donations will be handed back to the donor. All donations are final.  \nThis is a NO cash transaction event. All transactions will be made with e-tickets.
