The 2017 film Anaarkali of Aarah by director Avinash Das illustrates the life of a small-town erotic folk dancer whose confrontation with a vice chancellor shows a marginalized side of society struggling with power and corruption. Anaarkali's struggles resonate with the #MeToo movement and question stereotypes.
