Electing a New President, with Errol Louis

The FIT community is invited to an evening of discussion, debate, and political analysis on September 14 with Errol Louis, political anchor of NY1 News and host of Inside City Hall, a nightly prime-time show about New York City politics. Panelists for the event, “Electing a New President,” include representatives of the College Democrats, College Republicans, Young Republicans, and Young Democrats. Voter registration will be conducted and voter information will be available at the event, sponsored by the Presidential Scholars honors program.

On Inside City Hall, Louis interviews top political and cultural leaders, including Mayor Bill de Blasio, Governor Andrew Cuomo, Rudy Giuliani, Michael Bloomberg, and city, state, and federal officials. Louis is also a CNN contributor, providing on-air commentary on key events from presidential primaries to election night. He writes frequently for CNN.com.

Louis has moderated more than two dozen debates between candidates for mayor, public advocate, city and state comptroller, and state attorney general. and recently was a questioner in the final presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.

He writes a weekly column for the New York Daily News on political and social affairs and was recently ranked No. 30 on the list of the 100 most powerful people in New York City politics.

Electing a New President will be held Wednesday, September 14, from 6 to 8 pm in Katie Murphy Amphitheatre in the Pomerantz Center.
