Nancy Eder Contributes Chapter to Art History Pedagogy Book

Nancy Eder, adjunct assistant professor in the History of Art Department, contributed a chapter to the book Pedagogical Reckoning: Decolonizing and Degendering the Art Historical Canon in the Classroom and Museum (Vernon Press). Her chapter, “From Multiculturalism to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: How Teaching Art History Has Changed in the Twenty-First Century,” is part of the section about pedagogy.

In her chapter, Eder describes teaching art history classes at FIT over the years and how students learn in a different way from the past. She concludes it by discussing her approach to the class HA115: Crossroads: Global Art and Its Histories, 1450–1750.
