AI Speakers Series: Dr. Annette Vee on “Promises and Perils of AI in the College Classroom”

Annette VeeJoin the Office of Faculty Development for the last of three spring 2024 professional development workshops focused on AI in higher education. The goal of this series is to strengthen faculty knowledge of AI from technical, industry, and educational perspectives.

Our third featured speaker will be Annette Vee, PhD, associate professor and composition program director at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Vee’s research is at the intersection of computation and writing and speaks to fields as disparate as literary studies, digital humanities, computer science, education, and law. She is the author of Coding Literacy: How Computer Programming is Changing Writing (MIT Press, 2017) and has published on computer programming, blockchain technologies, intellectual property, and AI-based text generators in Interfaces, Literacy in Composition Studies, WAC Clearinghouse, enculturation, and Computational Culture.
