Campus Safety Day
October 9, 2018 at 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
This year’s Campus Safety Day event is being held during FIT’s Civility Week, taking place Monday, October 8 to Thursday, October 11, and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We hope that by attending Campus Safety Day you will learn about the various ways you can keep yourself and your peers safe. Any small action of kindness could help a friend in need.
For this event, the Dean of Students office, in collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Department of Public Safety, Information Technology, Title IX coordinator, and Health Services, will be discussing the ways in which we can be safe on and off campus. Local community agencies and FIT staff will be present at this event to provide students with information about the college’s shelter-in-place protocol, student conduct policy and process, cybersecurity, cyber civility, theft prevention, alcohol and other drug awareness, bystander intervention, Title IX policy and process, bias crime prevention, and available resources on campus such as counseling.
This event is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Civility Week. For a full list of Domestic Violence Awareness activities, visit fitnyc.edu/nomore; for a list of Civility Week activities, visit fitnyc.edu/civility.
This event is for the FIT community.
