SUNY’s Got Your Back, with Activist Zeke Thomas
April 25, 2019 at 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
SUNY’s Got Your Back provides the opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to create comfort kits for victims and survivors of violence, and to learn methods of better preventing and responding to violence, as together we work to build a New York where these bags are no longer needed.
Join us on Thursday, April 25, for SUNY’s Got Your Back at FIT where we will be assembling bags for victims and survivors of violence across the State of New York.
There will be two sessions throughout the day where students and employees may participate:
10 am–4 pm: Assembling SUNY’s Got Your Back bags. This will take place in the FIT Dining Hall, located in the Dubinsky Student Center.
5:30–7 pm: Hear from renowned DJ and activist Zeke Thomas as he speaks out in support of survivors of sexual violence and shares his personal story of surviving rape and overcoming trauma in the hopes of sparking positive change. This event will take place in the Katie Murphy Amphitheatre. (Note: This location has changed from the Haft Theater.)
This event is part of FIT’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month activities. Find out more at fitnyc.edu/safety/saae.
