Pomerantz Center, Room D207

As part of the Film and Media program’s monthly screening series, K8 Hardy will present her film Outfitumentary,  in which she documented her daily outfits over an 11-year period on video. Starting in 2001, she captured these outfits on a consistent basis, until the camera broke, filmed in ever-changing living spaces and art studios in New York. What emerged is a record of the way a young, lesbian feminist dressed and styled during her “coming of age” and an examination of coded fashion statements. It has recently been shown at the Rotterdam Film Festival and MoMA. Hardy will discuss the durational practice of dress and self-documentation after the screening. For more information, contact Michelle Handelman, 73352.
