Illustrator Jon Han and The New York Times Opinion section’s Art Director Alexandra Zsigmond will discuss their award-winning editorial series “The Subject of Death” in the Times.

Zsigmond has been an art director and designer for The New York Times Opinion section since 2011. In this role, she commissions and art directs original illustration by a wide range of international artists to accompany articles in the Sunday Review. She has brought a unique and adventurous visual identity to the section, drawing equally from the worlds of illustration, fine art and comics. She holds three gold medals from the Society of Illustrators and two publisher’s awards from The New York Times.

Han is an artist and illustrator who graduated from Art Center College of Design. Born and raised in California, Han now works out of his studio at the Pencil Factory in Brooklyn. His work has been published in the Times, The New Yorker, GQ, The Atlantic, the cover of American Illustration 32 and many other publications. His work makes use of the abstract and the familiar to help convey an image that is both understandable and new.
