Christina Lyons, chair, Exhibition and Experience Design, will head the jury of the 2018 Global Design Awards given by the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD). This is Lyons’ second year on the jury, and her first serving as its chair. Lyons will head a jury consisting of eight design professionals who practice in a variety of disciplines from typography and branding to creative technology and interactive experiences. The SEGD awards honor work that connects people to place by providing direction, content, and compelling experiences in public spaces. Winning entries have ranged from media-rich themed experiences and branded environments to design research initiatives and sustainable public art projects.
Entries to the competition are due by January 31, and the jury will announce its selections at the SEGD Conference Experience in Minneapolis in early June.
In a separate role for the SEGD, Lyons will also be leading an academic task force charged with selecting papers for presentation at the group’s Academic Summit, which will take place the day before the official conference in Minneapolis.
