Acting Associate Dean Melanie Reim and Six Illustration Students Work with Foundation Fighting Blindness

Melanie Reim, acting associate dean for the School of Art and Design, mentored a team of six students from the BFA and MFA Illustration programs as they served as artists-in-residence at the Foundation Fighting Blindness‘ Fashion and Finance Ball. At the event, the artists drew likenesses of the attendees during the cocktail hour, where their drawings were sold for $100 apiece, helping to raise $1,500 for the nonprofit. The mission of the foundation is to drive research providing preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by blinding retinal diseases.
