Amy Werbel Receives 2019–20 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award

Amy Werbel, History of Art, has been given a 2019–20 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to the University of York, U.K., where she will undertake a “Comparative Study of Art Censorship in the United States and United Kingdom Before World War I.” Werbel’s book on the history of American censorship, Lust on Trial, was published last year.

The U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program offers nearly 470 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 125 countries. Werbel’s award comes on the heels of the Fulbright organization’s announcement that in 2018–19, FIT was one of the top producers of its scholars, the first time an FIT had ever held that distinction.
