Yuni Kawamura Gives Talks in Japan About Culture and Fashion

Yuniya KawamuraYuniya (Yuni) Kawamura, Sociology, spoke at the forum titled “Creativity in the Top-End Markets: Louis Vuitton Moët-Hennessy’s Strategy and Cultural Interactions in the Global Fashion Business,” which took place at Aoyama Business School in Tokyo, a college where she was a visiting professor this summer. Her presentation was about “A Conflict Between Culture and Design in the American and European Fashion Industries.” Other speakers included Norbert Leuret, president of LVMH K.K. Japan, Masateru Nakagawa, former president at la Maison de la Culture du Japan à Paris, and Tsutomu (Tom) Nakano, professor of sociology at Aoyama Business School.

Kawamura was also invited to the IFI (Institute for the Fashion Industries) Business School in Sumida-ku, Japan, and gave a talk titled “Fashion Business from Sociological Perspectives.”
