A video installation by Michelle Handelman, Film, Media and Performing Arts, titled Irma Vep, The Last Breath, featuring Flawless Sabrina (The Queen) and Zackary Drucker (Transparent) is currently on view as part of an exhibition at Smack Mellon gallery in Brooklyn. The exhibition, Idol Worship, is curated by Emily Colucci and looks at the cultural, social, and political significance of role model adoration as an essential survival strategy, in homage to role models, muses, mentors, and “filth elders.”
The exhibition is on view through Dec. 29. Smack Mellon is located at 92 Plymouth St., in Brooklyn.
