Salary data proves that FIT alumni are exceptionally prepared to excel financially.
In its 2019–20 College Salary Report, Payscale, a career compensation website, ranked FIT 19th nationwide for the median mid-career salary of associate’s degree holders. Ten years out, AAS graduates from FIT are earning an average of $76,400. This means FIT grads are in the top 2 percent nationwide for mid-career salary potential.
Both the college’s design and business majors provide a great return on investment. Among graduates with bachelor’s degrees, FIT was ranked 14th in salary potential for art majors and 34th for communications majors.
In related news, a 2019 study by the Center on Education and the Workforce at Georgetown University placed FIT at 100 of 4,500 colleges nationwide for its “net present value” 10 years post-graduation, a measure of return on investment. This data reflects FIT’s excellent value: As a public community college within the State University of New York system, tuition is affordable, so that students graduate without a heavy debt load, yet are trained to become leaders in their chosen fields.
