WWD (December 23), in a year-end review of increasing awareness of diversity issues in fashion, mentioned that President Joyce F. Brown serves as a counselor on the Prada Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council.

Jeffrey Silberman, chair, Textile Development and Marketing, spoke with GearPatrol.com (December 9) for an article on the “Best Affordable Cashmere Sweaters.”

WCBS 2 News (December 20) interviewed Lisa Donofrio-Ferrezza, professor, Fashion Design, for background on “ugly” Christmas sweaters.

Preeti Arya, assistant professor, Textile Development and Marketing, was interviewed by Fortune.com (December 30) for an article on faux furs.

Ann Cantrell, assistant professor, Fashion Business Management, spoke with BBC Radio’s Newsday (December 19) about “slow fashion.”

Shawn Grain Carter, associate professor, Fashion Business Management, spoke with Fashionista.com (December 18) about the allure of the “party dress.”

WNYW Fox 5 News (December 14) profiled FIT student Megan Morgante, creator of NOEMI, a digital fashion magazine that presents unretouched models in its photos and aims to portray diversity in the fashion world.

Patricia Mears, deputy director, The Museum at FIT (MFIT), commented to Vogue.co.au (Australia, January 4) about the continuing style influence of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.

Fodors.com (December 14) included MFIT as one of its top picks for “How to See New York City on a Shoestring [Budget].”
