Professor Kyunghee Pyun, History of Art, gave a talk at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson on April 5. Titled “Identity Building and School Uniforms in South Korea: From School to Workplace,” the talk was an important contribution to the field of Korean popular culture and fashion studies. Hosted by two departments at Bard College, Asian Studies and Art History and Visual Culture, Pyun talked about her three-part research project on fashion, modernity, conformity, impression management, and identity building and shared her vision for a new book on workplace uniforms in the age of mass culture.
